Scotiacon 2026 Review

Scotiacon this year was a bit of a blur! Unlike last year where I attended ALL THE PANELS this time I found myself barely climbing out of fursuit. Which stands to reason with it being my first time fursuiting at Scotiacon. Was quite special, having Kiki return to her home of Scotland. I arrived on the Thursday, which I always recommend, even if you don't end up doing much. It just makes for more relaxed time for travel and then lets you start early on Friday.

Goodbye Webzine, Hello Blog!

Wow! A new blog is birthed onto the internet, what a day! 😱

In some ways this seems like an odd step for me since a core reason behind the webzine was due to all the old blogs I've let dwindle and die over the years. The webzine gave me something to aim towards each month, and for 17 issues I managed it well. But I've hit a brick wall with the webzine sadly. After a long gap last year and not a single issue posted in 2026, it's time to call it. I think part of the problem (other than health problems) was it didn't have much of an identity. Was all a bit of this, bit of that. Under different circumstances it might have been something I could have given a better focus with and kept the motivation going, such as making it exclusively about one topic. Maybe the webzine will come back one day, I enjoyed doing it, but it's all very much a mental block for me at the moment. So instead I've been drawn back to the idea of blogs.

Couple benefits of a blog:

  1. Can post stuff separately and whenever - no bundling articles and waiting for them all to be done!
  2. Less faff more writing - can just write, stick a picture on and post!
  3. Better for engagement - can post each article separately on social media, also there's a comment section! 😦
So what do I intend to write on this here blog? More of my furry writing for starters. One huge part of the webzine was the fiction serials that appeared at the end of each issue; "The Guardian of the Wizard Tower: Moggy O’Brien" and "The Pyrrhic Owls". I think they got a bit lost under all those articles about Rayman 2 for the PS1, so I did try posting them on Fur Affinity, but compared to my NSFW pieces, the serials never really felt at home there. Nice thing with the blog though, I can post chapters whenever they're ready and there's nothing stopping me doing multiple stories too (other than slackness). But yeah, other than that expect to see much of what was in the webzine really; an array of random shite. 👍
